President: Timothy DeGeeter ’89
Mayor of Parma (Parma, OH)
Tim DeGeeter grew up in Mishawaka, Ind., attended Holy Cross College from 1987-1989 and then transferred to John Carroll University in the Cleveland area. He received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science in 1991 and later earned his law degree in 1997 from the Cleveland Marshall College of Law. Currently, DeGeeter is the 14th mayor of Parma, Ohio, which is Ohio’s seventh-largest city. He came to the Mayor’s office from the Ohio House of Representatives, where he served the 15th District. Before going to the Ohio House, DeGeeter served as Parma’s Ward Four Councilman for five years.
Vice President: Jared Sawyer ’08
Counsel US Senate, Committee on Banking, Housing, & Urban Affairs (Washington, DC)
A 2008 graduate of Holy Cross, Jared served as the Student Government Association President and co-captain of the Men’s Golf Team. He went on to graduate with high honors, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies, with a double concentration in history and American Literature. Jared then graduated from the Louis Brandeis School of Law, University of Louisville, in 2011, and now is Counsel at the United States Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs in Washington, D.C. Jared is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and volunteers for the First Tee of Washington, D.C. He enjoys golf, American History and politics, global issues, college football, and is a life-long fan of the Tennessee Volunteers.
Corey Edmonds ’12
Retail Sales Specialist at The Tire Rack (South Bend, IN)
Corey Edmonds is a native of Granger, Indiana. Before coming to Holy Cross College, he attended Xavier University for year in Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from Holy Cross College in 2012 with a major in Business and a minor in Communications. Corey said, “Holy Cross College has helped me to develop business skills and confidence to excel in the position I have today” as a Sales Specialist at The Tire Rack.
Matthew Florian ’11
Assistant Archivist at the Buchanan District Library (South Bend, IN)
Matthew Florian was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania, and grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan. A 2011 history graduate, Matthew is currently in the Transition-to-Teaching Program at Bethel College in Mishawaka, Indiana while student teaching at New Prairie High School. He is also working as Assistant Archivist at the Buchanan District Library in Southwest Michigan. Matthew and his wife, Melissa, also a Holy Cross alum reside in South Bend, Indiana.
Sarah Fugarino ’11
Academic Coordinator at Harrison College (Indianapolis, IN)
Sarah Fugarino graduated from Holy Cross College in 2011 as a History major. During her time at Holy Cross, Sarah served as Student Body Vice President her junior year, and Student Body President senior year. She currently resides in Indianapolis, Indiana and is employed at Harrison College as Academic Coordinator where she reviews maintenance and audits of all student records. When not working, Sarah is training for the Indianapolis Monumental half marathon this fall.
