Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies

Business (and Economics) Concentration

Holy Cross College offers a concentration in business to prepare students for entry level management positions in the commercial, financial, nonprofit, and government sectors. The curriculum is designed as well for those considering advanced studies in business, economics, and public administration.

The student must complete the following classes in addition to or along with the general requirements needed to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies:

Business (and Economics) Concentration
MATH 118 or MATH 141 Finite Math or Survey of Calculus (Note: Prerequisites)
BUSI 217/CPSC 217 Advanced Computer Applications. (Prerequisite: CPSC 107)
BUSI 100 Introduction to Business (Waived if student has had a previous business/economics class).
ECON 201 Microeconomics
ECON 202 Macroeconomics
BUSI 201 Principles of Accounting I (Financial Accounting)
BUSI 202 Principles of Accounting II (Managerial Accounting)
BUSI 203 Business Law I (Contracts/Agency)
BUSI 205/MATH 205
QLIT 305
Introduction of Statistics with Laboratory
SPEE 410 Strategic Communication
Electives:

Suggested Course Sequence

For progressive planning it is incumbent upon a student to begin academic planning early in the undergraduate experience, hence the suggested course sequence focuses upon planning for the first two years of the educational experience.
