Network/Internet Access
The Holy Cross College ResNet runs on a dedicated T1 connection. Wireless access points are also available in the MAX, the atrium / computer lab, Driscoll lounge, the student union, cafeteria, and library with new hotspots planned for the resident hall lounges.
Residents are allowed to place their personal PC's on the college network only after reading and agreeing to abide by the Network Usage Policies and only after having their personal computer diagnosed as 'compliant' via the network's Cisco Clean Access software.
Telephone System
Telephone service is provided by the college though the college's network via IP telephony. Students living in the residence halls will be provided their own phone line and voice mail box which is integrated with their email account. Depending upon the accommodations students may share a common phone. This service is provided through the college's IT Department. All problems dealing with the IP phone service are to be directed to the IT Department for resolution. Resident students will be assigned a phone number and voice mail box at the time of registration.
