  • Prayer Or Bible Verses:

"And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46). This and Psalm 22. These verses help me understand that God gave us genuine freedom, a bicycle without training wheels, a tightrope with no net. Everyday on Earth is scary, thrilling, and ultimately satisfying because of our freedom. Doubt, fear, pain, it's all part of learning to ride. If he didn't intervene to save his son, he won't do it for me. It's the feeling I have when I sail so far out that I can no longer see shore. I do the right thing, not because if I don't he'll save me, but because if I don't I'll never get back. Knowing that there is someone on shore who loves me sharpens the senses and makes the journey so rewarding. We must do the right thing for ourselves, our families, our friends, our neighbors, our fellow earthlings, and every generation to come. Life is ours. We are captains of our own ships. When a storm comes up, hang on and tie your knots well. He gave us a chart to follow, but we must do the rest. That's what makes it fun. And what's the worst that can happen for doing the right thing? Jesus showed us. When we can hold on no longer, we pass into eternal life. That's a pretty soft landing. Thank you Father for letting me do it myself.
