Purpose: The Academic Advisor/College Success Program Director is responsible for contributing to a comprehensive and holistic learning experience by providing classroom and advising services that promote personal growth and informed educational planning.
Essential Job Duties
- Embrace and advance the Catholic, Holy Cross mission of the college by ensuring that all professional activities are consistent with that mission.
- Serve as an academic advisor with a holistic approach to student development
- Direct the College Success Program and mentor high risk students
- Teach courses in college success, study skills, and liberal arts
- Assist in the development, operation, and marketing of a comprehensive first-year experience
- Keep up-to-date on all information regarding academic advising policies and procedures
- Work collaboratively with professional staff and faculty in areas of student affairs, academics, and retention
- Participate as a staff member in the Department of Academic Development
Minimum Education, Skills, and Ability
- Master's degree in college student personnel, higher education, or related area preferred
- Minimum of one to three years of relevant experience in academic advising and/or higher education
- Demonstrated experience in applying student development theories
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Demonstrated experience at a faith based, liberal arts, residential institution preferred
- A keen interest in the collaboration of academic affairs and student affairs

Assistant Director of Information Technology

Typical Schedule: This is a full time position and at times may require more than a typical 40 hour work week, with occasional weekend hours to serve the needs of the college.
Purpose: The Assistant Director of Information Technology is responsible, in collaboration with the Chief Technology Officer, for the overall direction of the technology on campus including the planning and implementation of new technologies, the maintenance and support of the current infrastructure, and the support and training of end users.
Essential Job Duties
- Maintenance of network infrastructure including cabling, Cisco switches, and wireless access points.
- Provide training to users on identified topics both individually and in a classroom setting.
- Second-tier support for student personal computing devices running various versions of Windows, Mac OS X, and Android, including hardware/software issues and network connectivity problems.
- Maintain and write documentation for current processes and projects, and help to develop sound departmental and college technology policies.
- Work as the lead on various technology projects including their planning, research, implementation, and testing.
- Maintain vendor and other strategic relationships, to include attending conferences and related activities.
- Share responsibility for a Windows server environment. This includes ensuring that server operating systems, domain services (DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, KMS, etc.), and other centralized software is working properly and efficiently.
- Monitor and maintain the college Network Access Control software.
- Provide support for campus workstations in our computer lab, library, and classrooms including management of a virtual desktop environment utilized for these machines.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education, Skills, and Ability:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
- Microsoft, Cisco certifications desirable.
- 2+ years experience supporting an enterprise-level network
- Experience with network hardware and software
- Working knowledge of Microsoft server operating systems and typical network services
- Ability to troubleshoot a wide variety of problems involving servers, workstations, network equipment, and related technologies
- Advanced knowledge of Windows 7/8 and user-level knowledge of Mac OS X
- Able to manage projects and handle multiple tasks independently and in an organized manner
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with people at all technical proficiency levels
- Knowledge of website technologies is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. for equipment installation or moving
