Core Competencies and Learning Outcomes
How will you be different after graduating from Holy Cross College? How will you know that you are different from who you were the day you first arrived on campus?
At Holy Cross College, learning is a holistic experience engaging mind, body, and spirit. Students are part of a community of passionate, life-long learners all of whom share in opportunities designed to enhance their competence to see and their courage to act.
A long tradition of a practical, liberal arts education is realized through curricular and co-curricular experiences that focus on five core competencies, each of which has specific learning outcomes attached. Within each academic division and within each component of the student life experience, content specific learning outcomes are emphasized.
The five core competencies are:
- Critical and Creative Thinking
- Communication—Written and Oral
- Personal, Moral, Social, and Cultural Development
- Technology and Information Management
- Quantitative Reasoning
