Applying for Admission.

Applicants may apply for admission to Holy Cross College at any time during or after their senior year of high school. An application may be submitted in traditional paper form or by using our online electronic form. A "rolling" admission policy usually permits notification of the admission decision within two weeks after an application file is complete.

Students should submit the following when applying for admission:

  1. A completed application for admission form (either paper or electronic)
  2. $50.00 non-refundable application fee (You can send the application fee separately via surface mail if you do not wish to use a credit card for e-payment. The $50.00 application fee is waived if you decide to use our online application for admission form.)
  3. An official high school transcript (GED also accepted)
  4. If transferring from another college or university, submit all previous college transcripts
  5. SAT I or ACT scores
  6. Students who are citizens of other countries and for whom English is a second language should submit the TOEFL and certification of finances.

When to Apply

In order to allow ample time for processing and evaluation, applications for admission for the upcoming fall semester should be submitted by August 22nd. However, if on-campus housing is mandatory, applicants are encouraged to apply for admission as early as possible since residence hall space is allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Admission Visits

An admission interview is not required, but is highly recommended either before or after the admission decision. Visiting the campus and meeting with an admission counselor is the best way to finalize college choices. Admission visits can be scheduled for any weekday between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. EST throughout the year or on Saturday mornings of Notre Dame football home games in the fall.

In addition to meeting with an admission counselor, prospective students, applicants and parents may wish to request one or more of the following:

  • A guided tour of academic and residence facilities
  • Complementary meal in our dining room
  • Attend one or more classes (no Saturday classes)
  • Meet with our Financial Aid Director
  • Meet with specific faculty members
  • "Shadow" one of our Student Ambassadors for all or part of a day

Since all of our residence halls are currently at full capacity, we are unable to arrange on-campus overnight stays for prospective students.
