Holy Cross College Alumni Board Donates to Student Lounge
As part of a continuing effort to encourage growth and development on campus, the Holy Cross College Alumni Board of Directors recently donated $2,500 toward the soon-to-be renovated Driscoll Lounge. This student lounge has not had a full renovation since its construction in 1966. In 2005, the Student Government Association began to fundraise and make plans for its complete reconstruction. Two years later, the original group’s proposal has become a fully realized architectural plan, and the 2008-2009 SGA is very close to meeting their $134,500 fundraising goal.
“We are so grateful to the Alumni Board of Directors for their generous gift,” says Elliott Magers, president of the SGA, “the Board has been a great support system for us throughout this process.” The Alumni Board of Directors also contributes $2000 annually toward a scholarship for the College.
