College Profile

Holy Cross College, a small Catholic liberal arts college adjacent to the campuses of the University of Notre Dame and Saint Mary’s College, opened in the fall of 1966 with its first class limited to student Holy Cross Brothers. Male students from the South Bend/Mishawaka area were enrolled the following fall, and in 1968, the College became coeducational. The name of the College was changed from Holy Cross Junior College to Holy Cross College in 1990.

Throughout its history, Holy Cross has transferred students to over 210 colleges and universities throughout the United States. Enrollment includes approximately 500 local, national, and international students, representing more that 30 states and 10 foreign countries.

While continuing its mission of offering a two-year associate of arts degree, Holy Cross College expanded its mission in Fall 2003 to include a four-year option for students interested in earning a bachelor of arts degree. The first class of baccalaureate students received their degrees on May 7, 2005.
