Information for Parents of Prospective Students

Admission Requirements

Entering students are expected to have successfully completed a college-preparatory high school program of at least 16 academic units: 4 in English (composition and literature), 3 in college preparatory mathematics, 1 in a laboratory science, 2 in history or social science, 2 in foreign language, and 4 college-preparatory electives. A student who has the General Education Development (GED) certificate may be considered for admission to Holy Cross College.

Students should submit the completed Application for Admission form (either paper or electronic), the $50 nonrefundable application fee (waived if the online application is used), an official high school transcript (the GED is also accepted), and SAT I Reasoning Test or ACT scores. Transfer applicants must submit all previous college transcripts and evaluations from the deans of their previous institutions. Students who are citizens of other countries and for whom English is a second language should submit scores of the TOEFL and certification of finances. All applicants are encouraged to visit the campus for an admission interview. More information is available in the admissions section.

Costs

Tuition for the 2005–06 academic year is $5,500 per semester for full-time students enrolled in 12 to 19 semester hours. Hours in excess of 19 were $360 more per semester hour. Part-time students paid $3,60 per semester hour. Summer session courses are $195 per credit hour. Room and board ranged between $3,375 and $4,025 per semester, depending on the accommodations the student chooses.

Financial Aid
