Finding Articles in Journals and Newspapers
Online periodical indexes allow you to search for articles on a particular subject in scholarly and popular journals and newspapers. McKenna Library subscribes to a wide range of specialized and multi-disciplinary databases which allow students to complete all their research here at Holy Cross College.

A digital library that includes approximately 500,000 images covering art, architecture and archeology.
Business Source Premier
The industry's most used business research database, providing full text for more than 2,300 journals, including full text for more than 1,100 peer-reviewed titles. This database provides full text back to 1886, and searchable cited references back to 1998.
CQ Weekly
CQ Weekly is ideal for finding information on a current topic in the news that has political or legal ramifications. It provides in-depth reports on issues looming on the congressional horizon, plus a complete wrap-up of the previous week's news, including the status of bills in play, behind-the-scenes maneuvering, committee and floor activity, debates and all roll-call votes.
Datamonitor
Datamonitor provides online data, analysis and forecasting for seven industry sectors: automotive, consumer markets, energy, financial services, health care, technology, and logistics. The database is comprised of a core collection of 3,000 Datamonitor Industry Profiles which provide comprehensive market analysis.
Encyclopedia Britannica
Full-text with pictures of the complete encyclopedia, plus links to scholarly articles - updated daily.
ERIC
ERIC, the Education Resource Information Center, contains more than 1,282,000 records and links to more than 314,000 full-text documents from ERIC.
GreenFILE
GreenFILE offers well-researched information covering all aspects of human impact to the environment. Its collection of scholarly, government and general-interest titles includes content on global warming, green building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, recycling, and more.
Health Source - Consumer Edition
A rich collection of consumer health information providing information on many health topics including the medical sciences, food sciences and nutrition, childcare, sports medicine and general health.

Military & Government Collection
Offers current news pertaining to all branches of the military and government through a collection of scholarly and general interest journals. The Military & Government Collection provides cover-to-cover full text for nearly 300 journals and periodicals and indexing and abstracts for nearly 400 titles.
Naxos Music Library
Naxos Music Library is the World's largest Classical music listening service with over 140,000 tracks of music available. It is continually growing and includes Classical music, historical recordings, Jazz, World, Folk and Chinese music. Also included is extensive background information, such as complete liner notes and biographical information on composers and artists.
Oxford Art Online
Provides web access to Grove Art Online, The Oxford Companion to Western Art, the Encyclopedia of Aesthetics and the Concise Oxford Dictionary of Art Terms. It contains more than 45,000 articles on painting, sculpture, graphic arts, architecture, decorative arts and photography - from prehistory to the present day.
Oxford Biblical Studies
Provides access to six Oxford editions of the Bible along with commentary, annotations from study Bibles, and reference material which can be viewed alongside primary text.

The accepted authority on the evolution of the English language over the last millennium.
Oxford Music Online
Offers the full texts of The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, 2nd Edition (2001), The New Grove Dictionary of Opera (1992), and The New Grove Dictionary of Jazz, 2nd Edition (2001) and includes more than 50,000 signed articles and 28,000 biographies contributed by over 6,000 scholars from around the world.

Oxford Reference Online provides the Full text of over 100 dictionaries, general reference, language reference, and subject reference works from Oxford University Press.
Professional Development Collection
Designed for professional educators, this database provides a highly specialized collection of nearly 520 high quality education journals, including more than 350 peer-reviewed titles. This database also contains more than 200 educational reports.
Searchasaurus
A full text database for elementary school research and reading. The database include a handy Teacher Resources area, as well as a dictionary, encyclopedia, and an image collection.
