Rudy Generates Big Crowds
While it has been over 14 years since the movie Rudy was released, and even more since Daniel “Rudy” Ruettiger was a student at Holy Cross College, Notre Dame, Indiana, the college has not forgotten him.
Rudy’s presence generated long lines when he visited the campus on Friday, November 2nd to sign books, posters, DVDs and other memorabilia. Students, faculty, staff and neighbors from the South Bend community waited in a line that extended out the door. Rudy was also excited to be back at the school that helped him reach his goals.
On Saturday morning prior to the ND/Navy football game, Rudy made an appearance at the Holy Cross tailgate party and mingled with other Holy Cross College alumni as well as current students, faculty and staff. He posed for pictures and signed autographs for his many fans. In Notre Dame, Indiana, the movie Rudy is a frequently watched classic and to many the man is considered a hero.
Daniel “Rudy” Ruettiger is also a former Trustee of the college.
