Bachelor of Arts in Theology
Theology at Holy Cross College
At the heart of the Church’s mission is theology which for centuries it has described as “faith seeking understanding”.
Holy Cross College seeks to play an active role in the on-going process of passing on to students the Catholic faith and theological tradition. This it does by promoting the study of Sacred Scripture, the wisdom of the Fathers, authentic Church teaching, and the living experience of the People of God.
The College strives to educate competent leaders who in ways appropriate to their respective callings in the world are prepared to more fully and enthusiastically live out their Baptismal promises guided by Gospel values and principles.
The Bachelor’s Degree program in Theology prepares students for professions and various forms of ecclesial and educational ministries at parochial and diocesan levels, or for future theological or religious studies.
The Theology courses offered at Holy Cross are arranged according to a 4-year format that reflects intellectual development from basics to a more specialized subject matter. Some theology classes are taught every semester while others are taught on a rotational basis: once a year for some and once every two years for others.
