Summer Conference at Holy Cross College Looks to Inspire Youth
Holy Cross College director of campus ministry, Robert Kloska, and local youth minister, Lou Paiz, are joining together to present a CatholicYouth Conference June 24-26, 2005.
Noting that both their ministries are beginning to bear unprecedented fruit after much labor, Kloska states, “Because of this simultaneous blossoming, it just seemed natural for us to team up on a summer conference.”
The program is set to inspire, excite and bring to life for young people the theme, “Be God’s
.”, through dynamic speakers and music. Sessions begin on Friday evening and will close on Sunday at 12:15 p.m., following a farewell Mass.
Seeing the great need in the world for families who support and nurture the faith, activities for parents have also been included. Some of the presenters include national speaker Jesse Romero, former L.A. County Sheriff’s Deputy and boxing champion, the Pete Cornelius Band, Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Most Rev. John D’Arcy, Bishop of Fort Wayne-South Bend Diocese.
In addition, D.J. Fitzpatrick, Notre Dame football place kicker and punter, and Maura Weis, chairman of “Hannah and Friends” and wife of Notre Dame head football coach, Charlie Weis, will speak during the Saturday afternoon time period between 2:00—5:00. Area residents of all ages are invited. A $25 tax-deductible donation for this session will be applied to the summer conference scholarship fund.
