This past fall, alumnus Dylan Maugel ’21 presented his paper “Seeing the World Through the Lens of the Liturgy” at the Society for Catholic Liturgy conference. The event was held at St. John Vianney Seminary in Denver,” Colorado.

“Fr. Daniel Cardo, the pastor at my home parish in Denver, a professor at St. John Vianney Seminary, and an elected Board of Directors member of the Society for Catholic Liturgy, encouraged Augustine Institute students to submit in the Spring of 2022 abstracts of a paper they could present at the conference,” noted Maugel. “These abstracts would be reviewed by the Board of Directors of the Society for Catholic Liturgy and had to be approved by the board to present at the conference on October 1, 2022. My abstract was accepted. I applied what I had researched from my Theology Senior Thesis at Holy Cross College, a class Introduction to Catechesis at the University of Notre Dame taught by Professor Timothy O’Malley, and a class called Mystagogy taught by Dr. Sean Innerst at the Augustine Institute to compile a paper to show how the Liturgy can heal and reorient the youth’s vision of the world.”
