Jack Mason

Originally from Michigan City, Indiana, Jack Mason ’22 graduated with a psychology major to pursue a career in clinical psychology, specifically as a licensed clinical psychologist with a private practice.

“I decided on psychology about halfway through high school,” noted Mason on why this field of study. “I had experience counseling during a retreat I went on during high school. I also enjoy learning about the different types of disorders and how to treat them; every new case feels like a mystery I get to solve.”

Why Holy Cross College

“I came here because of the community feel on campus, and I felt that the students were welcoming and kind every time I visited. I was also excited to be a part of the tri-campus community,” said Mason.

Campus involvement

“I am involved in the Psi Chi Honors Society, where I served as co-president this past year,” noted Mason. “I got involved because of the research opportunities and getting to know some of my fellow psychology majors.”

Impactful experiences

“I don’t have a special memory that I think defines me and who I am today, but I will say spending time with my roommates in our living room while we drink coffee and laugh has been something that I will cherish far after leaving campus. Those mornings were special because our conversations ranged from subject to subject, but we just enjoyed each other’s company,” recalled Mason.

Future plans

“I will be pursuing a PsyD doctorate in clinical psychology at the University of Indianapolis’ College of Applied Behavioral Sciences. After that, I hope to own and operate a private psychology practice,” said Mason.
