As the Holy Cross Saints charge in to the McKenna Arena, a powerful roll-off on a snare drum begins the Holy Cross Pep Band’s pre-game set! It begins with an appropriate rendition of When the Saints Go Marching In, followed by a traditional “Let’s Go Saints” cheer that resounds across the arena. Finally the Holy Cross Fight Song is played to close out the pre-game portion of the performance. The pep band then spends the next four quarters cheering on the Saints basketball teams to victory, and playing arrangements of a wide variety of musical selections; ranging from 80’s Rock to today’s Top 40 Hits! The band concludes its performance with the playing of the Holy Cross Alma Mater, performed as a solo by one of the Holy Cross trumpeters.
The Holy Cross Pep Band was founded in January of 2011. Since its first game, it has evolved into a major part of the game atmosphere, and a leader of the student body at both HC Basketball and Hockey games. The band is made up current Holy Cross students and prospective HC students.
