In just three weeks, the doors of Holy Cross Hall will open, and a new chapter of campus life will begin at Holy Cross College.

The College’s newest residence hall will welcome 110 students and three Resident Assistants for the 2026–2027 academic year. Together, they will become the first community to call the building home and help establish a legacy that will shape generations of Saints to come.

The $12 million, 29,000-square-foot hall represents much more than additional campus housing. Designed around the daily rhythms of student life, it will offer inviting places to pray, study, gather, and form the friendships that make Holy Cross feel like home.

The first floor features a community lounge with a full kitchen, along with a conference room for meetings and gatherings. A chapel inspired by Our Lady of Guadalupe will be completed during the fall semester, giving residents a dedicated place for prayer and reflection.

Spacious lounges on the second and third floors will provide room for studying, hall programs, and time with friends. Each floor also includes dedicated study and community spaces at the ends of both residential wings, as well as a conveniently located laundry room.

The hall offers a combination of single- and double-occupancy rooms. Each resident will have a bed, built-in closet, chest of drawers, desk, and chair, along with a shared double-sided bookcase and shelf.

Every part of Holy Cross Hall has been planned to support a vibrant residential community. Its importance, however, will ultimately be measured not by its bricks, beams, or amenities, but by the life that takes shape inside it.

Its inaugural residents will have a special role in creating that life.

Each residence hall at Holy Cross develops an identity through the students who call it home. Over time, residents embrace traditions and symbols that reflect their shared values, history, and spirit. The first residents of Holy Cross Hall will work together to select the hall’s motto, patron saint, colors, crest, and mascot.

 

Those choices will become part of the hall’s story, connecting its first residents with every class that follows.

Holy Cross Hall also marks a major step in the continued transformation of campus. When the College broke ground in May 2025, the project was envisioned as the beginning of a new residential quad and a lasting investment in the formation of students through faith, friendship, and community.

Later this month, that vision will come to life.

As students carry boxes through the doors and begin making their rooms their own, they will do more than move into a new building. They will create its first memories, establish its first traditions, and begin the story of Holy Cross Hall.
