Dr. Hunt earned his doctorate in Medieval Studies from the University of Notre Dame.  His dissertation, “Why Do They Apostatize? Apostasy, Law, and Religious Argumentation in the Western Mediterranean (ca. 1200-1300)”, examined how shifts in religious argumentation affected the way Muslims and Christians perceived and addressed religious apostasy.  His research interests include Muslim-Christian relations, law, and conversion in the premodern Mediterranean.

Dr. Hunt’s deep belief in the transformative power of education first drew him to higher education in prison and MCI as a graduate student.  He later returned to MCI as a faculty fellow in writing and rhetoric.  In 2024 he moved into the assistant director position where he continues to teach and guide students through their college careers.

Dr. Hunt teaches the Career Internship and Senior Capstone courses for MCI as well as History.
