Abby Clark

Holy Cross College is pleased to announce the appointment of Abby Clark as the Assistant Director of Stewardship and inaugural Head Women’s Golf Coach for the College. Clark is a 2019 graduate of Holy Cross College where she earned a BA in Business Administration and played on the women’s golf team.

In her position as Assistant Director of Stewardship, Clark will be responsible for donor engagement, reporting, and recognition – working both with donors and alumni. She will oversee stewardship from conception to completion both in identifying prospective donors and finding opportunities for them to engage in unique and meaningful support of the College’s mission.

In addition to her role within Advancement, Clark will serve as the first dedicated women’s golf coach in Holy Cross College’s history, which had – until now – had one coach overseeing both men’s and women’s golf. Holy Cross College is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. Having their own coach – rather than sharing a coach with the men’s team – will allow the women on the golf team to get more individual attention, development, encouragement, and support, says Clark. She hopes to increase the golf team’s numbers from its current roster of four to the maximum number of ten within a few years.

Clark, who hails from just outside of Phoenix, AZ completed her undergraduate degree in three years. She then spent a few years in Europe, first as an au pair and then teaching English as a second language. She returned to the States in 2022 settling in Chicago, IL as an account manager for a Midwest food exporter but quickly found herself driving back to South Bend frequently to attend alumni events at Holy Cross College. She instantly felt welcomed, “I feel like I’m coming home.”

Clark is looking forward to the opportunity to grow in her new position in advancement, particularly helping to grow and strengthen the alumni community. She notes that the most distinctive part of her Holy Cross experience was the attention and commitment to her growth as an individual during her time as a student. She sees that commitment now in the way that the College was able to combine two of her interests to create this full-time position. “Holy Cross has always looked out for me”, she said.

JudeAnne Hastings, the Vice President for Advancement and Clark’s immediate supervisor said, “we are thrilled to have Abby join our team! She brings energy and enthusiasm to a group of professionals committed to stewarding relationships and funding that support Holy Cross College’s mission to educate scholars, citizens, leaders, and disciples.”
