For ten years, Dr. Alesha Seroczynski was the Associate Dean and Director of the Moreau College Initiative, a degree-conferring program sponsored by Holy Cross College for incarcerated men at Westville Correctional Facility. In 2016, MCI became one of 67 programs nationwide that offer Second Change Pell scholarships to its students. During her tenure, MCI conferred 135 Associate of Arts and 40 Bachelor of Arts degrees at Westville.
In the fall of 2024, Alesha returned to the classroom with traditional undergraduates on the main campus where she teaches her first love—Psychology. She earned her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Texas at Dallas, and Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology (1999) from the University of Notre Dame.
Dr. Sero has published and presented at several international venues; her most recent piece is entitled “Becoming Vulnerable with the Vulnerable: A Pedagogy of Hope for Incarcerated Students of the Liberal Arts.”
