Holy Cross College (HCC) and the University of Holy Cross (UHC) in New Orleans have signed a transfer agreement for a minimum of five graduates from HCC’s baccalaureate program to gain guaranteed acceptance into one of three of UHC’s Master of Arts in Counseling Programs: Clinical Mental Health Specialization, Marriage and Family Counseling, and School Counseling. With a college-wide goal to dedicate the necessary resources to develop within each academic program guidance for graduate school preparation, this partnership is consistent with mission of HCC, and meets the current and future demands and needs in society. Moreover, this partnership brings HCC closer to fulfilling a goal in its new Strategic Plan – “to strengthen…and develop new affiliation agreements and guaranteed placements with graduate and professional programs.”

To be eligible for the new guaranteed admission agreement, HCC students must complete an admissions application to UHC, earn an overall GPA of 3.0 or above and must present evidence of satisfactory proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.

“Through this partnership with the University of Holy Cross”, says Dr. Marco Clark – president of Holy Cross College, “our students will receive a robust education in counseling to be men and women with hope to bring to a world in need of healing.”

This is the latest Graduate Pathway Program established by HCC bringing the total number of pathway institutions to five and the number of pathway programs for its students to eighteen. HCC is grateful for this opportunity to partner in the continued education and formation of our students as scholars, citizens, leaders, and disciples.
