Returning Students Re-Admission Guide

Welcome back! If you previously attended Holy Cross College and want to return to complete or start a new program, follow these simple steps to reactivate your student status.

Step 1: Check Your Eligibility

Before applying, ensure you meet the baseline criteria for a returning student:

  • You previously took credit-bearing courses at Holy Cross College.
  • You have been away for at least one full academic semester (excluding summer).
  • You left the institution in good academic and financial standing.

Step 2: Clear Any Holds on Your Account

You cannot register for classes if there are active holds on your account.

  • Academic Standing Holds: Contact the Registrar’s Office to resolve any prior academic status restrictions – [email protected]

Step 3: Submit the Re-Admit Application

Complete and submit the official, online request form. This updates your student profile and alerts the admissions team of your intent to return.

  • Fill out the official Re-Admission Application
  • Ensure all personal information, contact details, and your intended major are up to date.

Step 4: Submit Official Transcripts (If Applicable)

Did you attend another college or university during your time away?

  • Request official transcripts from that institution.
  • Send them directly to the Office of Admission to evaluate your transferable credits – [email protected]

Step 5: Apply for Financial Aid

Ensure your finding is secure for the upcoming school term.

Step 6: Meet with an Academic Advisor

Once your re-admission application is processed, you must plan your schedule.

  • Schedule a virtual or in-person appointment with an academic advisor.
  • Review your degree audit, remaining graduation requirements, and select future classes.

Step 7: Register for Classes

With your advisor’s approval, you are ready to build your schedule.

  • Log in to your student portal during your designated registration window.
  • Add your classes and secure your spot for the upcoming term.

Fall semester: August 10

Spring semester: December 15

Reinstatement Guide

If you are returning to Holy Cross College after an academic dismissal, disciplinary dismissal, or after withdrawing from all of your classes during your last semester, follow these steps to apply for reinstatement.

Step 1: Determine if you Need Reinstated

You must apply for reinstatement if you:

  • Were academically dismissed.
  • Were dismissed for disciplinary reasons.
  • Withdrew from all of your classes during your last semester at Holy Cross College.

Step 2: Submit the Reinstatement Application

Complete and submit the online request form. This alerts the admissions team of your intent.

  • Fill out the official Reinstatement Application.
  • Ensure to answer all questions thoroughly and provide any requested supporting information.

Step 3: Submit Official Transcripts (If Applicable)

Did you attend another college or university during your time away?

  • Request official transcripts from that institution.
  • Send them directly to the Office of Admission – [email protected]

Step 4: Application Review

Once your application and all required documents have been received:

  • Applications involving academic dismissals are reviewed by the Provost.
  • Applications involving disciplinary dismissals are reviewed by the Dean of Students.
  • The appropriate Provost or Dean may also designate an appointee to review your application.

Step 5: Receive Your Decision

You will be notified of your decision and, if approved, receive information about your next steps for re-enrollment and course registration.

Fall semester: August 10

Spring semester: December 15

For any students that have received an associate degree from Holy Cross College and wants to come back and complete their bachelor’s, complete a regular application.
