Amanda Pertierra earned her B.A. from Middlebury College where she majored in Political Science and Anthropology. She then received her M. Ed. through Notre Dame’s Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE) and taught middle and high school history and religion in multiple contexts ranging from Texas’s Río Grande Valley to New York City and Boston. She pursued specialization in ENL through ACE’s ENL Hernandez Fellows program. Upon completing the program, Prof. Pertierra served as a teaching assistant and instructor in ENL courses for K-12 educators at Notre Dame and Holy Cross before joining the faculty full time.
