For Chris Schaub ’29, faith and education are inseparable parts of his journey at Holy Cross College. What began as a desire for a strong academic foundation has grown into a deeper formation of both heart and mind—an experience that is shaping who he is and the kind of doctor he hopes to become. As a biology major preparing for a career as a medical doctor or doctor of osteopathic medicine, Chris views his studies as a vocation rooted in compassion. Having faced his own health challenges, he understands how powerful healing can be—both physically and spiritually.
“I know that God has called every person to serve the people around them in love and compassion. This pushes me to be the best student possible and to become the best doctor I can be and whatever else I am called to do.”
At Holy Cross College, Chris is immersed in an education that unites knowledge with faith. Through courses like the Mind and Heart Seminar and the tri-campus connection with Saint Mary’s and Notre Dame, he is learning to approach science, service, and spirituality as one integrated pursuit.
“Seeing compassion lived out by my peers, my mentors, and throughout this community has inspired me to look beyond myself and bring that same care to those who suffer.”
For Chris, the generosity of donors has made all this possible.
“I am at Holy Cross College because of the financial support of donors. Knowing that some people I may never even meet have donated to students like me gives me so much joy.”
Because of your generosity, Chris and hundreds of other students at Holy Cross College are being formed in heart and mind, preparing to go out into the world with the competence to see and the courage to act.
Make your gift today and help form students who lead with faith, compassion, and purpose.
