When the Brothers of St. Joseph, now the Brothers of Holy Cross, began their education ministry in post-Revolution France in 1820, the simple instructions that they were given as they ventured alone or in small groups of 2-3 was to do all the good they could do, teach students all that they should know, and be disciples with hope to bring.
