The Siegfried Dining Hall

Great food and an inviting place to enjoy each meal with your friends, the Siegfried Dining Hall will be a big part of your Holy Cross College experience.

With large tables as well as intimate booth seating, the Siegfried is a place where friends, faculty, and staff all enjoy a casual time and a great meal together.

You’ll always find something good on the menu and the finest, freshest ingredients from Campus Chef Matt Seitz. Restaurant style choices include a fresh pizza station, a sandwich station, a grill, a stir-fry station, a soup and salad bar, and always a tray of baked goodies next to the ice cream.

Nutritional Counseling


Whether it’s the initial transition away from home, or coping with the pressures of coursework and exams, we recognize the need to be available to coach students on proper nutrition and eating habits. Our nutrition services program director, Jocie Antonelli, is a registered dietitian whose high acumen in developing nutrition strategies is matched by the relationships she develops with students as she guides them toward making more healthful choices. If you have a food allergy, celiac disease, or other special health condition, please review the Food Allergy and Medical Condition Action Plan.

Student Meal Plans


Included at no extra charge with your Holy Cross College housing fee is a choice between two meal plans — either the default On Campus 15 or the requested On Campus 19. For those students living at the University Edge, the University Edge 10 is included in your housing agreement. All meal plans are semester based. Students are allowed to request to switch meal plans before the add/drop period closes at the beginning of each semester. The opportunity to change meal plans for the Fall 2017 has passed. The next opportunity to change will be for the Spring 2018 semester between Monday, January 8, 2018 and Monday, January 22, 2018.

The On Campus 15 provides up to 15 meals per week in Siegfried Dining Hall and $250 in Basil Bucks per semester. The On Campus 19 provides up to 19 meals per week in Siegfried Dining Hall and $100 Basil Bucks. There is no difference in cost between the On Campus 15 and the On Campus 19 plans. The University Edge 10 plan provides up to 10 meals per week in Siegfried Dining. All plans allow multiple meal swipes per meal period for personal use only.

Anytime Pass
Purchase 20 meals for $135 for use in Siegfried Dining Hall during breakfast, lunch or dinner. Meal passes are for personal use. Meals may be used for guests if guests are dining with the pass holder. The Anytime Pass may be purchased by anyone with a valid Holy Cross College ID with cash, Visa, Master Card, or Discover Card in Siegfried Dining Hall.

What Are Basil Bucks?
Basil Bucks are an extension of the on campus dining board plan and are accepted at the campus café as well as dining halls and retail locations at the University of Notre Dame. Basil Bucks are placed on the ID card at the beginning of each semester and any remaining balance expires at the end of each semester.

The last meal of Fall 2017 is December 15, 2017.
The first meal of Spring 2018 is dinner January 15, 2018.
The last meal of Spring 2018 is May 11, 2018.
All meal plans expire on May 11, 2018.


Faculty and Staff Meal Plans


Value Meals
Purchase 5 lunches for $30 or 20 lunches for $100 for use in Siegfried Dining Hall. These meals may be purchased by regular faculty and staff members with a valid Holy Cross College ID. Value meal passes are for personal use. Meals may be used for guests if guests are dining with the pass holder. Meals may be purchased with cash, Visa, Master Card, or Discover Card in Siegfried Dining Hall from the cashier.
