Dion Payne-Miller


Dion Payne-Miller ’25 is a Junior from South Bend, Indiana, majoring in Clinical Psychology at Holy Cross College.

Why Holy Cross

“One of the reasons I came to Holy Cross College, is because of the small community and the ability to develop close-knit relationships with peers and professors. I was drawn to the tri-campus and the unique experience each student gets by being a part of it.”

Selecting Studies

Dion decided to major in Clinical Psychology because of his passion to help others and to make a difference in people’s lives.

“I am fascinated by people’s behavior and interested in learning about what affects the quality of their lives.”

Community involvement

Dion is part of an organization called Faith in Indiana, which is comprised of a group of faith leaders and members from the St. Joseph County.

“We meet with public officials and strategize on how to make our community a more safe, equitable, and caring place in which all people thrive- no matter who they are or where they come from.”

Dion is also the Head Coach of the South Bend Table Tennis Center, a long-time passion of his.

Future goals

After graduation, Dion would like to further his education in the field of Psychology. He is currently on the path to pursuing a Master’s degree in Family and Marriage Counseling, from the University of Holy Cross.

“These positions allow me to grow in my leadership skills and to make a difference in the lives of the players I coach.”
