Holy Cross College is excited to share that first-year student Wesley Omerso has been selected as a recipient of the Community Scholarship Program of the Lilly Endowment.
This four-year, full-tuition (including fees and textbooks) scholarship is “designed to help raise the level of educational attainment in Indiana, increase awareness of the beneficial roles Indiana community foundations can play in their communities and encourage efforts of Lilly Endowment Community Scholars to engage with each other and with state leaders to improve quality of life in Indiana.”
“The Lilly Community Scholarship Program”, says Wesley Omerso, “has opened so many amazing opportunities to connect with fellow students and attend such and amazing university. The scholarship has been extremely helpful to pursuing higher education and I am so grateful to the community and opportunity I was given with the Lily Scholarship.”
A native Hoosier from Floyd County, Omerso is a student of the Gateway Program, allowing Wesley to continue the rigors of a Holy Cross education at the University of Notre Dame next Fall. Commenting on an overwhelming positive experience at Holy Cross College, Wesley said, “The school has provided be an amazing mix of a world class education and a small, tight-knit community. As a gateway student, I get to experience the best possible combination of the tri-campus. I’m especially grateful for the great group of people from Holy Cross and Notre Dame that have taken my college experience from ordinary to extraordinary.”
