The Holy Cross College community once again demonstrated its extraordinary generosity this week, raising $4,240 to support the annual Thanksgiving Basket drive. Thanks to the collective efforts of faculty and staff—and the leadership of the Student Government Association’s Social Concerns Committee—50 local families received a full Thanksgiving meal.

A long-standing tradition of service, the Thanksgiving Basket program reflects the College’s commitment to faith, community, and compassionate outreach. This year, Holy Cross partnered with Martin’s Super Market Store in Heritage Square, where volunteers picked up all the food items needed to fill each basket with a generous assortment of traditional holiday staples. The baskets were assembled and delivered in collaboration with St. Vincent de Paul, continuing a partnership that has helped bring warmth and dignity to families across Michiana for more than two decades.

On Sunday, Nov. 23, members of the campus community joined together to deliver the baskets to local households. Their smiles, conversations, and expressions of gratitude served as a powerful reminder of what this effort means to families preparing for the holiday.

“Because of your donations, we were able to provide Thanksgiving baskets to families who needed them most. Your participation keeps this tradition alive and meaningful,” said Anika Micou and Abigail Fouts, Social Advocacy Board Chairs for the Student Government Association.

Holy Cross College extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated, volunteered, and supported this year’s drive. Your kindness continues to shine as a true reflection of the Holy Cross mission—and brings the spirit of Thanksgiving to those who need it most.
